RULES OF THE PLACE-II

1. DON’T KNOW ABOUT ’FLYING’ BUT YOUR ‘TYPING’ WILL SURELY IMPROVE HERE.

2. YOUR FLYING EXPRIENCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR LETTER WRITING (TYPING) SKILLS.

3. IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE SORTIE DOESN’T GO THROUGH, THE ‘LETTER’ MUST GO THROUGH

4. DO NOT QUESTION THE INTENTIONS OF THE TYPING THE ‘LETTER’. MAJORITY OF THE TIMES, IT IS UNKNOWN TO THE PERSON TASKING YOU ALSO.

5. IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU TYPE THE ‘LETTER’ WITH THE BEST ‘ENGLISH’ USING THE BEST OF THE VOCABULARY ASSIMILATED BY YOU, IT STILL WOULD BE REJECTED.

6. THE LESSER TIME YOU TAKE IN TYPING A LETTER THE MORE THE NUMBER OF MISTAKES THAT WOULD BE POINTED OUT. FINISH TYPING IT EARLY ,TAKE IT AFTER AN HOUR…

7. A ‘GOOD SORTIE’ is a possibility ,A ‘GOOD LETTER’ is a fantasy .

8. LUNCH IS NOT YOUR RIGHT OR NECESSITY, ITS A 'PRIVILEGE' BESTOWED ON YOU.

9. THE PHRASE ‘FOR YOUR INFO AND NECESSARY ACTION’ still REMAINS A MYSTERY.



INCOMPETENCE

“It’s a man’s life , no body said it was a gonna be a joy ride in the Air Force”… “U r a Fauji c’on…u INCOMPETANT ass”

“But sir, all I was doing was having LUNCH before I type this letter of yours!!!!”

In the 65 odd years after Independence and barely seen three wars , irrelevant dialogues like these clutter the majority of the spoken communication between a Senior offr (an eternal asshole known as the Flt Cdr ) and a YOUNGSTER in the so called working hours of a typical Unit of the Indian Air Force. Of course in the end the YOUNSTER comes out losing with a tag of an Incompetent , non initiative Officer, reason ….well , b coz he was seen having his damn lunch instead of typing a letter his flt Cdr wants urgently. Notwithstanding the importance of this LETTER , what I find amusing the term INCOMPETENT ,the junior guy is now branded with for just filling his tummy. Anyways , lets define INCOMPETENT an adjective which literally means a GOOD –FOR- NOTHING human being , who doesn’t have the mental and physical capacity to withstand his hunger before typing a letter on behalf of his senior guy. Well analyzing his fault and understanding how a young man in his twenties after slogging it out in the NDA for 3 yrs , Racking his ass out in the AFA for another and warming the seat of an aircraft for another 5 year s become this GOOD-FOR NOTHING guy.

Well to start with, its already 1500 hrs against the so called WORKING HOURS of 1430 and OUR guy becomes incompetent of not completing his task , not the Guy who gave this task only at 1400 hrs.

Its been 6 hours OUR guy has had some solid food (breakfast) ,and OUR guy becomes Incompetent for having lunch instead of typing , not the Guy who himself filled himself taking a break but didn’t look back upon our guy.

Its OUR guy who has no clue on the significance of this damn letter becoming incompetent not the Guy who should have explained him the same. But instead just dictated some crap to a hungry guy waiting to go home.

Its OUR guy who becomes incompetent, who thinks Flying is his primary dut ,not the Guy who ensures he dedicates minimum effort towards ensuring the same.

Finally its, OUR guy who become incompetent who wants to fly , not type, go home on TIME not waste TIME and eat when he is hungry not when he is Free …..
